Government Shutdown Prompts Cancelation of Ku Klux Klan Rally

Turns out, there is one positive to come out of this week's government shutdown.

Aside from John Boehner swinging naked on a wrecking ball, that is.

With Congress unable to come to a funding agreement by September 30, all national parks and monuments have now been closed, a crushing blow to anyone planning to visit Yosemite in the near future...

... And also to a Maryland based Ku Klux Klan chapter who had received a special-use permit to hold a rally at Gettysburg National Military Park on Saturday.

The event was scheduled to protest illegal immigration and also to demand that President Obama produce proof of American citizenship.

But the group has been forced to cancel the rally after park officials rescinded all permits due to the shutdown. Might Congress have had this in mind all along? And isn't truly acting like a bunch of self-centered, immature idiots?

Sigh. We doubt it.
