Orlando Bloom and Miranda Kerr may have closed the book on their marriage, but according to the actor in an interview today, their story is far from over.
Speaking about their split for the first time on Katie, Bloom says he and his estranged wife would be linked together forever by their 2-year-old son, Flynn.
"We love each other," Bloom, 36, told Katie Couric of Kerr, 30. "We're a family. We're going to be in each other's lives for the rest of our lives."
"There's no question that, you know, for the sake of our son and everything else, we're going to support one another and love each other as parents to Flynn."
Was her case of Bieber Fever to blame for the split? Orlando did not say.
"You know, life sometimes doesn't work out exactly as we plan or hope for," he added, "but fortunately, we're both adults, and we're professionals."
"We love and care about each other. And we, most of all, love our son."
Married since July 2010, Miranda Kerr and Orlando Bloom confirmed in a joint statement through their reps that they have been "amicably separated."
Recently, the two "decided to formalize their separation."
"Despite this being the end of their marriage," the statement read, "they love, support, and respect each other as both parents of their son and as family."
Not too interesting from a celebrity gossip standpoint, but good to hear, and hopefully, they can continue to put that plan into action in the years to come.
