Paula Patton's acting career is really taking off lately, and with that comes the media rounds, and with that comes talking about Miley Cyrus Twerking.
It was Paula's husband, Robin Thicke, who was on the receiving end of Miley's genital-grinding display at the MTV Video Music Awards, after all.
The Baggage Claim star stopped by Bravo's Watch What Happens Live, last night and, in typical fashion, downplayed the racy "Blurred Lines" duet.
"Honestly, they rehearsed for three days beforehand, and I don't know how not to dance with someone having their booty in your ... all my friends do it like that."
"And, I don't really know what the big deal is."
"Her song's about taking Molly!" Patton added, referring to "We Can't Stop," Cyrus' multi-platinum hit. "I don't understand. I didn't get the big deal."
"I didn't know if they thought Miley was going to sit down and play piano like Alicia Keys or what. We knew what we were getting ourselves into."
So, there you go. For his part, Thicke recently told Star magazine, "We're entertainers, and the VMAs [are] the perfect place for a little shock and awe."
"We kind of knew in rehearsal and we were like, รขOkay, if you touch me with your foam finger all over my crotch, obviously a few people are going to have something to say.'"
"But that was the whole point!"
Cyrus also defended their controversial collaboration. "Me and Robin, the whole time said, 'You know we're about to make history right now,'" she recalled.
"They're over thinking it. You're thinking about it more than I thought about it when I did it. Like, I didn't even think about it 'cause that's just me."
As for Paula and Robin, they've also been under scrutiny thanks to Lana Scolaro's claims that she hooked up with him, but brushed that off as well.
This is one unflappable couple.
