M.I.A. Sued By NFL For Flipping Bird, Accuses League of "Massive D--k Shaking"

British singer-rapper M.I.A. is being sued by the NFL for flipping the bird during Madonna's Super Bowl halftime show, and she is none too happy about it.

The league is seeking $ 1.5 million in damages for her one-finger salute, seen by millions of TV viewers, during Madonna's performance in 2012.

M.I.A. calls the brouhaha "completely ridiculous" and asserts that cheerleaders "dancing" during the elaborate production were actually more offensive.

Moreover, she says in a new video (above) that the NFL's legal claim that she is in breach of contract amounts to a "massive corporation d--k shaking."

The musician argues that if people zoom out from the photo of her middle finger, they'll find 10-15 young cheerleaders striking very sexual poses.

"So now [the NFL is] scapegoating me into figuring out the goal posts on what is offensive in America," the 38-year-old mused in her video response.

"Like, is my finger offensive or is an underage black girl with her legs wide open more offensive to the family audience?"

M.I.A. (real name Mathangi Arulpragasam) added that the league's legal action is a massive waste of time and money, but she's not backing down.

Her attorney has already solicited fans to send in any examples of bad behavior by NFL personnel not in line with its purportedly family-friendly image.

"And basically say it's okay for me to promote being sexually exploited as a female than to display female empowerment through being punk rock," she declared.

"They want me on my knees and say sorry so they can slap me on my wrists."

"That is what it boils down to, and I'm being sued for it."

No word yet on what the NFL has to say about this.
