USA Today writes that two cases of "krokodil" have been discovered in Arizona, with health officials in that state confirming the appearance of this heroin-like, fresh and bone-rotting opiate.
It originated in Russia and it's made by combining over-the-counter codeine-based headache pills mixed with iodine, gasoline, paint thinner or alcohol
These Arizona sightings are believed to be the first krokodil cases in the U.S., and let's hope they are the last.
When injected, the drug destroys one's tissue. As depicted in the disturbing video above, it then turns a user's skin scaly a green, leading to sores and often times blood poisoning.
According to Time Magazine, the average life expectancy among krokodil addicts in Russia is two to three years.
