Brandon Walsh -- err, Jason Priestley -- is such a sentimental guy. The actor, who appeared on the original incarnation of Beverly Hills, 90210, tipped his hat to the cast and crew of The CW's 90210 reboot, which was canceled after five seasons on Thursday, Feb. 28.
"Lasted half as long as the original," tweeted Priestley, who currently stars on the half-hour HBO Canada comedy Call Me Fitz. "Not bad, guys."

Veterans Jennie Garth and Tori Spelling reprised their roles as Kelly Taylor and Donna Martin on the teen soap in 2008, and Priestley directed their reunion episode during 90210's first season.

CW president Mark Pedowitz explained the network's decision to cancel 90210 in a statement to Us Weekly. "The CW has had five great seasons with America's favorite zip code, 90210," he said. "I'd like to thank the talented cast, producers and crew for all their hard work and dedication to the series. We are very proud of the West Beverly High alumni."

Series stars AnnaLynne McCord, Jessica Stroup and Trevor Donovan thanked their fans for their continued support over the years. "Oh Silver, our time has come to an end but you are a part of me forever," Stroup tweeted of her character Feb. 28. "Thanks to the fans who have been along for the ride. All my love."
Donovan, who was downgraded to a recurring guest star after Season 3, added, "Very grateful I had the opportunity to play a meaningful character [Teddy Montgomery] . . . who just happened to be gay. Thanks for the memories."

"Thank you for all of the support for so long," tweeted McCord, who played bad girl Naomi Clark. "I'm sorry you aren't getting the proper sendoff you deserve, but please know how much your love means to me!"
"To my amazing cast, I have loved working with each and every one of you. I'm excited to see what you all do next! I expect great things," Jessica Lowndes, who played Adrianna Tate-Duncan, tweeted March 1. "I feel very blessed that I had the opportunity to play Adrianna these past five seasons. Thank you for your endless support. I love you guys."
90210 will air its final episode on Monday, May 13. The original Beverly Hills, 90210 ran on FOX for 10 seasons from 1990 to 2000.
