He may be playing a Giant Slayer in his latest film, but Nicholas Hoult is also a gentleman. The British actor, 23, broke up with Jennifer Lawrence over a month before her victorious night at the Academy Awards -- but the Jack the Giant Slayer star is super-excited about his ex-girlfriend's precocious Oscar win.

"Very much so," Hoult told Us Weekly at the Tuesday, Feb. 26 Hollywood premiere of the fairy-tale-based action film. "I'm very, very happy for her," Hoult added to E! News of Best Actress winner Lawrence, 22. The blue-eyed actor had high praise for his former love's award-winning performance in Silver Linings Playbook. "[She] was great!" he raved.

The duo, who quietly parted ways in January after about two years together, will be reunited, professionally speaking, to shoot X-Men: Days of Future Past. (They met on the set of 2010's X-Men: First Class.)
"I'm really excited to go back into it and to work more with those guys," Hoult recently told Us in an interview. We had a lot of fun making the first one, lots of great memories, so it'll be a nice little reunion."
